Teaching to Form vs. Inform
The missionary Elisabeth Elliot once stated that, “Faith does not eliminate questions. But faith knows where to take them.” A place of learning can remain merely that, but a place of Catholic learning seeks to do something of eternal value with what knowledge offers. What are the distinctives of a learning environment where souls are formed, Satan is a known enemy, and the Son’s embrace is the unambiguous goal of all knowing? What are the dangers of passing on knowledge without any sense of this purpose? This workshop makes clear what it means to form versus only informing our students and our children.
