The Human Person in God's Loving Plan
“Being in the image of God the human individual possesses the dignity of a person, who is not just something, but someone. He is capable of self-knowledge, of self-possession and of freely giving himself and entering into communion with other persons. And he is called by grace to a covenant with his Creator, to offer him a response of faith and love that no other creature can give in his stead” (CCC 357). Flowing from the workshop on the Human Person: God’s Masterpiece, this workshop addresses four of the major components of the human person and their relevance to the unfolding of God’s Plan: 1) our creation in the image of God and His call to transformation by grace into His likeness; 2) our vocation to entering into the Trinitarian life in Christ; 3) our creation as male and female; and 4) the unity of body and soul in the human person.
