Martha Drennan, PhD

Dr. Martha Drennan received a Bachelor of Science Degree in General Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1984. After serving seven years in the Army and three years in civilian manufacturing management, she realized her call was back to school for a Master’s Degree in Theology and Christian Ministry with a Catechetics Specialization from Franciscan University. Since graduating in 1998, she has served at various parishes as a Director of Faith Formation, generally focusing upon cradle to grave formation for the parishioners. This has included at various times Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, Religious Formation for children from preschool through 8th grade, RCIA, infant baptismal preparation, sacramental preparation for 1st Reconciliation, 1st Communion and Confirmation for children and teens, RCIC and RCIT, Youth Ministry, Adult Faith Formation, and more recently Family Catechesis, while always focused upon catechist formation for her volunteers. She received her Doctor of Ministry degree in 2020 from the Catholic University of America. Her treatise focused upon the formation of families as domestic churches. Martha is a faculty member in the Parish Catechetical Leader (PCL) Track with the St. John Bosco Catechetical Conference. Martha is single and lives in Gainesville, VA with her 90 years old father and cares for him.
